The Farm Stay Pt I

Those of you who know me, know that a farm boy, I am not.

Farm animals scare me and I need my mobile phone and internet. Remove electricity completely, and I would have assumed I'd be a mess.

However in the spirit of an adventure, I took the family away to a beautiful little hut, on a property that left even myself, speechless with it's beauty.

So while there, it seemed silly not to take some gear, so I packed the trusty Z7, the new(ish) Nikkor Z 180-600mm, Z 24-70mm f/4 S, my favourite Z 20mm f/1.8 S, and a bunch of NiSi filters. And found more than enough things to shoot, in between bouts of pouring rain.

Angry birds (I'm just proud, this was my first shot ever of a bird in flight, hand held with the 180-600mm). Note: Bird did not actually appear angry.

Some huge, Clydesdale horses, that kept me inside.

Stunning vistas for my family to explore, while I kept my distance from said horses.

And an angry bull (who also did not appear at all angry).

But the best part?

For fifteen minutes at approx ten past one, on the second night, it stopped raining, the clouds disappeared, and just before the fog rolled in, there was perhaps the most spectacular sky I've ever seen...
